From 30A, Alys Beach looks closed. White walls, courtyards behind gates and 158 acres that are all privately owned. Plenty of drivers on the corridor take that look at face value and keep going toward Rosemary Beach.
The town's own visitor guidance draws the line in a narrower place. Alys Beach's beach and beach accesses are private amenities for homeowners and Alys Beach Vacation rental guests. Town Center is different. The shops and restaurants around the Amphitheatre and along the north side of 30A are open to the public. Since 2024, that public side has added enough tenants, service hours and free events to fill an afternoon for anyone who lives along the corridor. This fall is when it comes together.
Where the Private Line Actually Falls
The town gives visitors three free places to park:
- The marked spaces around the Amphitheatre in Town Center
- The surface lot on North Castle Harbour Drive, behind George's
- The slip roads that run parallel to 30A on the north and south sides, La Garza Lane and Sugar Lump Lane
The parking courts behind The May, The Camden & Whitby, The Della and The Dannelly & Varian buildings are reserved for owners and Alys Beach Vacation rental guests. Unmarked areas are off limits too. The town says parking is monitored and tickets are issued for violations. Alys Beach also has a photography policy that protects private residential spaces, including doorways, stoops, windows and courtyards. Phone cameras are fine for the Amphitheatre. Keep them away from someone's front step.
That's the full set of restrictions for a Town Center visit. Once you know where they sit, the rest of the place is public.
How Town Center Filled In, One Tenant at a Time
The current lineup came together over about two years.
Indigo Road Hospitality Group opened O-Ku, a Japanese restaurant, in Alys Beach in 2024. SoWal reported in October 2026 that it has kept doing well since. In March 2025, Alys Shoppe moved into a permanent Town Center storefront after more than a decade in temporary spaces. That gave the town's longest-running shop a fixed address. Alo Yoga followed, with a grand-opening day on Friday, September 19, 2025.
The biggest addition so far arrived this summer. Indaco, a second Indigo Road restaurant, opened July 2, 2026 at 40 Mark Twain Lane, Suite 101, according to the Northwest Florida Daily News. With Indaco open, one hospitality group now runs two Town Center restaurants with different cuisines, a short walk apart.
Two retail openings are coming this fall:
- Rowan, a California-based menswear brand, is opening its first store outside California at 11 North Castle Harbour Drive, Units 6–7. SoWal's October 7 report said it was expected to open in October 2026.
- KREWE, the New Orleans eyewear brand, has sold in Alys Beach for years, both inside Alys Shoppe and from its Tiny House. This fall it is opening its first Florida storefront, with optical frames, lens cutting and other services added. SoWal's report gave the timing only as this fall.
KREWE's move is a step up in what the town offers. A storefront that cuts lenses is somewhere you go back to for a prescription or a repair, more than once.
Indaco, by the Clock
Indaco's schedule is a big part of why Town Center now works for a whole afternoon. The restaurant describes its food as modern Italian built around handmade pastas, wood-fired pizzas and shared plates, with seafood, salads, antipasti and Italian-style sandwiches on the menu too. VIE Magazine's September 2026 profile names Dakota Watson as executive chef.
Posted hours, which may change:
- Weekday lunch: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Weekend brunch: Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Aperitivo: daily at the bar, 2:30 to 4 p.m.
- Dinner: daily, 4 to 10 p.m.
There's no gap between lunch and dinner. The aperitivo hour fills it, so the kitchen-adjacent bar serves from late morning until 10 p.m. That fits an errand-and-lunch stop as easily as a dinner reservation.
The menu lists a Margherita pizza at $20, a spicy soppressata pizza at $24, tagliatelle at $30 and lobster spaghetti at $62. So a pizza at the bar costs about a third of the most expensive pasta. The town's merchant listing says reservations are highly encouraged and are handled through OpenTable.
The Fall Calendar Is Mostly Free
Most of Town Center's October and November calendar is free and public. Here are the dated listings as of October 7, 2026:
| Date | Event | Where | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tuesdays, Oct. 13, 20, 27, 5–7 p.m. | Wine + Song, a four-wine tasting with live music | NEAT Bottle Shop | $30 per person |
| Thursday, Oct. 22, 4–7 p.m. | Howl-O-Ween + Merchant Trick-or-Treating | Town Center | No general admission listed; costume contest needs presold tickets |
| Nov. 13, 2–4:30 p.m.; Nov. 14–15, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. | CRAFTED Holiday Makers Market | Alys Beach Amphitheatre | Free |
| Friday, Nov. 27, 4–6:30 p.m. | Alys in Winter Wonderland | Alys Beach Amphitheatre | Free; $3 cookie sets and Santa photos |
The October 22 evening is split in two. The dog-and-owner costume contest runs from 4 to 5 p.m. and has a limited number of presold contestant tickets. Merchant trick-or-treating follows from 5 to 7 p.m. The Merchants of Alys Beach present it. The same week, Garden & Gun holds its Society and Friends Gathering throughout Alys Beach from October 22 to 25. Tickets are $2,800. Expect a busier Town Center than a usual late-October Thursday.
Mid-November brings Alys Beach CRAFTED. The festival's schedule lists evening programs, including chef-and-spirits dinners on November 12 at Red Loggia at Caliza, George's at Alys Beach and The Summerhouse at the Silva. The free part is the Holiday Makers Market. Regional artisans set up in the Amphitheatre, with live music and food and drink sold by the surrounding Town Center merchants. All ages are welcome, the market runs rain or shine, and Santa photos are available from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The page is inconsistent about dogs. Its event summary says they're welcome, but the festival policy further down says only service animals are permitted.
The Friday After Thanksgiving
Alys in Winter Wonderland is set for November 27, the day after Thanksgiving. The holiday concert starts at 4 p.m., and the tree lighting with Santa follows at 6:30 p.m. In between there's cookie decorating, letters to Santa, face painting, holiday photos by EPIC on the splash pad and photos with Santa. Cookie sets and Santa photos are $3 each, and lines for both close at 5:45 p.m. so vendors can serve everyone already waiting. The Merchants of Alys Beach present it, it's free and open to the public, and they've asked people to come back the next day, November 28, for Small Business Saturday.
If you plan for the 6:30 tree lighting, the free spaces around the Amphitheatre will likely fill before the concert. The North Castle Harbour Drive lot behind George's and the La Garza Lane and Sugar Lump Lane slip roads are the other free options the town lists.
Our team keeps up with what opens along 30A, and with how it changes what an afternoon on the corridor looks like. If you want to talk about a home within reach of Town Center, or about how new restaurants and shops like these fit into owning or renting on the east end of 30A, Marie Babin and the team can walk you through it.
